Yesterday afternoon the Bobcat cross country teams traveled to Gettysburg High School for the League Championship Meet. The competition featured 22 teams from York and Adams County, with only 20 medals awarded to the top finishers. In the boys’ race, Noah Hake ran in the top fifteen for the entire 5k, finishing 14th overall and taking home a championship medal. Brody McElwain paced himself early outside of the top thirty, and after a second mile surge he moved into 17th place to also earn a League medal. In the girls’ race, Micaela Bradley surged ahead of a pack at the finish to earn a top ten finish position and a medal. Her 9th place finish was second best among all freshmen in the race.
The teams will train now in preparation for the District Meet to be held at Big Spring on Oct. 31.
