We had quite a few games yesterday, so let's dive on in.
*Boys’ soccer game was postponed until Monday, *while field hockey was next on the schedule as they battled Susquehannock and battled but lost with a final score of 7-0.
*Girls’ volleyball played Eastern York which resulted with Eastern York winning 3-0. Northeastern tried hard but sadly could not come through with the win.
*Girls’ soccer faced Red Lion and fought and fought. They took the win against Red Lion with a score of 4-2.
*The Bobcat cross country teams traveled to Glen Rock to take on the teams from Susquehannock and Biglerville. In the boys’ race, the top seven of the home-team Warriors made an early wrong turn that cut more than 300 meters off the required course distance, leaving the Northeastern varsity 10 having to play catch-up for rest of the 3.1 mile run. Ben Kelly and Noah Hake did pass the leaders in the last half-mile, and seniors Brody McElwain and Robert Yoka, along with DJ Haas and Josh McKenzie broke up the remainder of the opponents’ pack, earning an outright win for the Bobcats. The race referee determined that the home team had cut the course and disqualified all seven runners, confirming the boys’ win that raised their record to 11-1.
In the girls’ race Micaela Bradley and Rose Rush led a small field of runners over the difficult Susquehannock course to finish 1-2 and earn the ladies two wins and raise their record to 6-6 which will earn them a berth in the District Championships. Emily Rau, Sophie Dekker, Emilee Baskette, and Destiny Lehman completed the scoring for the Lady Bobcats.
The teams travel to Gettysburg next week to for their next League contest.
*Only girls tennis will be playing today as they are hosted by South Western at 4:00 pm so there's no reason you can’t go mosey over to watch the lady bobcats play in what should be an exciting game.
