“From teaching phys. ed, to coaching a high school football team, Mr. Scepanski has it all. Graduating from Solanco High School then West Chester University, Mr. Scepanski has brought a ton of enthusiasm and happiness to the community, but which was more important to him as a child, education or sports” said Tyler Funke. “I felt that both were very important especially when you look at going into the college level. Sports can help but the academics come first and that’s the main goal. Make sure you have a good academic background and then the sports part takes care of itself” explained Mr. Scepanski. “Mostly everyone who came from the middle school knows who Mr. Scepanski is, so why did he come to the high school” said Tyler Funke. “I chose to come to the high school. There was an opening here. Teaching at the high school level was something I’ve always wanted to do. It’s just another learning experience for me and moving into the direction that I wanted to go” proclaimed Mr. Scepanski. “He picked football out of all sports, but with a purpose” as Tyler Funke spoke. “It’s something I started playing when I was 9 years old. I’ve always been very passionate about it. Since the time I was 9, I’ve never gone a year without being involved in football some way. It’s just something I’m very passionate about. I enjoy playing it, coaching it. It’s something that’s always been in my life” said Mr. Scepanski. “Not only is football a big deal for him, but so is teaching phys. ed” said Tyler Funke. “Other than some crazy injuries that happened occasionally, my first year teaching we had a girl that we were playing floor hockey and she tripped, fell and ended up knocking part of her tooth out and that happened within my first two weeks of teaching. I was right out of college so that was probably one of my most interesting because you know, in college they prepare you to teach but they don’t prepare you fully to handle the awkward situations that happen” vocalized Mr. Scepanski. “It is still possible for Mr. Scepanski to be on the road to follow his dream” said Tyler Funke. “Reality is here now as I get older and stuff. I enjoy where I’m at right now. I enjoy coaching here at Northeastern. What the future holds from there I have no idea, but right now I’m very happy with where I am” recited Mr. Scepanski. “Tyler Funke reporting for High Street Media” said Tyler Funke.
