Yesterday, we had girls volleyball who played at 7:00 against Eastern York. They played well and had some close games, 21-25, 25-15, 25-19, 25-12, but sadly lost 3-1.
*On Tuesday afternoon the Bobcat cross country teams traveled to Gettysburg for the YAIAA League Championship Meet. In the boys’ race, Ben Kelly and Noah Hake started in the front pack with the best runners from York and Adams Counties. In the last kilometer, the boys were still bunched together as they fought to win the overall title, and the top 25 finished within 50 seconds of each other. Ben Kelly achieved the highest finish for a Bobcat in the history of this meet with a third place medal, and Noah Hake finished 8th to medal for the second year in a row. Brody McElwain finished 27th, and seniors Parkes Harman and Robert Yoka completed the top five in scoring for the boys’ team.
In the girls’ race, Maddie Warrender finished sixth against an outstanding field to earn her first League medal. Senior Destiny Lehman ran her best time for 5K in her first appearance at the League Meet.
BOTH of the teams have qualified for the District 3 Championship Meet AT Big Spring on Saturday Oct. 22. Congratulations to everyone on the team! We can’t wait to see what happens on Saturday.
