The tennis team had its most successful county tournament ever as all four of the Bobcat players won their first rounds.
Lance Fries took down a player from Dallastown in the first round as he rallied from a 2-5 deficit to win the first set 7-5 and then closed the deal with a 6-2 final set victory.
Lance's next match was against 2 time District champion, Holden Koons of Dallastown as Lance lost that one but played very well in defeat.
Hayden Golden took down the number two player from Southwestern in straight sets as he played extremely well. In his second round, Hayden lost to New Oxford's number one player but continues to play some of his best tennis of the season.
Tony Damian defeated his first opponent from Central in straight sets before taking on and almost defeating the number 8 seeded opponent from Red Lion. Tony lost that one in three sets and truly impressed everyone at the tournament.
Josh Sanderson started the day as Northeastern's sixth seed in the singles and did not disappoint. He won in straight sets over a Dallastown opponent and then took out the number one player from Southwestern, also in straight sets. Josh will continue his efforts in the counties as he plays the third seeded player from Dallastown later today.
All four team members played their best tennis of the season yesterday and are looking forward to doubles next week as well as their second trip in two years for the Team Districts.
It has been a very exciting run for the Bobcats so far and there is a lot of great tennis going forward!
Yesterday, the baseball team played Southwestern and lost in a close game 4-3.

The boys varsity volleyball team won their match against Eastern yesterday, as expected! Great job!
Today, the softball team is back on the field playing against Kennard Dale. Good luck!
