Good morning Northeastern!
The Bobcat Tennis Team had a very tough 3-2 loss against a good Gettysburg team yesterday. The guys battled hard in what turned out to be a classic match.
Josh Sanderson played a hard fought battle that went into three sets before losing.
Second singles Lance Fries also played well but lost to a strong opponent.
Hayden Golden continues to win as he came out on top with a 6-3; 6-2 victory.
The doubles team of Tony Damian and Ryan McElwain lost their first set before storming back in the next two sets to even the match at two points each.
That left it up to the second doubles team of Sam Sidle and Erick Sowers and they played incredibly well. They lost the first set 7-6 and 11-9 in the first set tiebreaker. They won the second set 6-4 to even it at a set apiece. Unfortunately, they could not quite finish it and lost in the third set after giving a super effort!
Additional wins were posted by the doubles teams of Jason Cardone and Seth Sidle, Evan Gibbs and Sam Gatchell, Trenton Clouser and Carter Crebs and an additional win by Evan Gibbs and Joe Weihbrecht.
Although it was a challenging loss, the Bobcat Team showed no sign of quitting and fought all the way to the end.
The team will travel to Suburban on Friday in what should be another exciting match.
The softball team played hard yesterday but lost to a tough Dallastown team with a final score of 6-2.
The baseball team wasn’t able to come out with a win either, losing 5-0.
Tonight, the Boys Volleyball team has an away game against New Oxford. The JV team starts at 6, and Varsity starts at 7! Good luck!!
