On Tuesday, the Bobcat Tennis Team got off to solid start with a 5-0 win over West York. First singles, Courtnee Hoff hammered out a strong 6-2; 6-2 win in her match. Jillian Laughman only gave up 2 games overall as she won 6-0; 6-2 at second singles. Third singles, Brynn MacDonald put together a good outing as she won 6-1; 6-0. First doubles of Madison Laughman and Aubrey Shaffer played well and came out on top, 6-1; 6-2. Isha Patel and Lael Marshall teamed up at second doubles as they won 6-2; 6-4. Additional wins were posted by the doubles teams of Amy Rizzo and Katie Harrison along with new players, Emily Dellinger and Laura Shearer competing well. The team seniors have been showing excellent leadership with the rest of the girls and are looking forward to a very good season!
The Bobcat Tennis Team also had another match yesterday. They made history as they captured a point against District powerhouse Hempfield for the first time for either the boys or girls teams. Third singles player, Brynn MacDonald battled hard as she had an incredible win by the score of 7-6 (7-5) in the first set tiebreaker before closing the deal 6-0 in the second set. First singles, Courtnee Hoff took on the defending District champion and played a very strong match in defeat. Jillian Laughman continued to impress as her match went a long time before finally losing to a strong Hempfield opponent. The first doubles team of Madison Laughman and Aubrey Shaffer played well before losing to a good team.Freshman, Lael Marshall and Sophomore, Jiselle Castano showed their athleticism with many good shots before losing a competitive match.An additional win was put together by Katie Harrison and Amy Rizzo in their doubles. The entire team played very well overall and are looking forward to the challenge they will face Monday on the Bobcat's courts against Dallastown. Come out and watch what should be an exciting contest!
Attention anyone interested in playing baseball for the 2019 season, you should attend a meeting on Tuesday August 28th at 7am in the High School Auditorium. At this meeting, student-athletes will meet the coaching staff and go over pre-season workouts and schedules. If you cannot attend this meeting please contact Coach Dierdorff.
