Goodmorning everybody!!
The Bobcat Tennis Team put together their best match of the season and one of their all time great wins as they hammered Central with a 4-1 score. Considering Central has shut out Northeastern in all past seasons, it was an incredible turn around!
The Cats came very close to sweeping Central as Colin Wunsch and Lance Fries barely lost in a close third set tiebreaker. Alec Schroter got Northeastern's first point with a victory at third singles. Josh Sanderson took on a very strong opponent at second singles and came through with the second point. The clinching third point came from the doubles team of Brian Hollingsworth and Tony Damian as they hung tough and won 6-2; 6-4.
The final point came from their number one single's player, Erich Nagel. In the ten point tiebreaker, it was all Erich as he won with a huge 10-5 score and an exciting finish! Additional wins came from Jacob Weaver, Jason Cardone, Sam Sidle, Hayden Golden, John Mazuera, Ryan McElwain, Trent Stauffer and Matt Murry who all played very well. Overall, the team was extremely pleased with this big win and are looking forward to their match today against Delone on our home courts at 4PM.
Yesterday, the baseball team took on Southwestern at home, and we came away with a 2-0 victory! Robbie Clipp pitched a complete game shutout for his first varsity win! Awesome job guys! Also, the baseball team is scheduled to play tomorrow at home against Greencastle-Antrim! The game starts at 4:15 so come down to the field and fill the hill!
Varsity softball played South Western yesterday afternoon at home, but sadly lost. Also, the softball team is still looking for some more JV players.
