Good Morning Northeastern!
Last night, the boys basketball team played a very intense game against York High in the Giant Center. The boys played their District 3 5A Semifinal hard and were neck and neck for most of the time until York High came out with the victory, winning 84-80 in overtime. Up next, the boys will hopefully have a good run in states.
Sunday morning at Penn State Maddie Warrender became the first ever track and field state medalist from Northeastern. Maddie broke her own school record in the mile with a time of 5:09.5 to finish seventh among all runners in the state. She was the only medalist from the YAIAA at the meet.
The Winter Sports Awards Ceremony for JV/Varsity winter teams will be held TONIGHT at 7pm in the High School Auditorium. Student-athletes will receive certificates and awards for their participation in a winter sport. Student-athletes must be present to receive their awards.
Any athlete planning to run the distance or middle distance events in track this spring may attend preseason workouts this week after school. Runners will have study hall in Rm 212 until 3:30 and then stretch to go outside and run. We will do a core strength workout after the run and be finished by 5:00. Bring attire appropriate for winter running.
Any girls interested in playing JV/Varsity Softball this spring should sign up in the Athletic Office. Please provide name, grade and contact number on the sign-up sheet. Tryouts are Monday March 5th at 3pm-5pm in the 9th grade gym.
