Good Morning Northeastern!
Yesterday there was a track meet against Spring Grove and the boys had their first win with a score of 68-68, and the girls fell short 54-96.
There was also a volleyball game against West York and our boys won, 3-0.
Great job to all of the teams!
The Bobcat Tennis Team had their best match of the year yesterday as they soundly defeated a very good team from Suburban, 4-1.
Third singles, Tony Damian played extremely well as he won 6-2; 6-0 in his match.
The first doubles team of Ryan McElwain and Haydne Golden also played well as they came out on top 6-0; 6-1.
Sam Sidle and Erick Sowers also did a great job as they triumphed 6-2; 6-3 at second doubles.
In an exhibition doubles match, Sam Sidle teamed up with freshman, Brandon Shirk and they went all the way to a 6-6, 8-6 tiebreaker win over Suburban in a hard fought win.
The match of the day and shot of the day went to Lance Fries who won 6-1; 6-1 at second singles. Lance pulled off what is considered a very difficult shot called a tweener where the player runs back to get a shot with his back to the net and then hits it between his legs. Lance hit this for a winner deep down the line and our team and fans went wild applauding this incredible feat!
Overall, the entire team played extremely well and are looking forward to the rest of the season as they moved their record to 5 and 1.
A big thank you to all the fans that attended a very exciting contest! Stay tuned for more great matches!
Tonight there is a softball game against Spring Grove away at 4:15.
There is also a baseball game against Spring Grove away at 4:15.
Good luck to both teams.
