Good Morning Northeastern!
Lance Fries and Josh Sanderson put together a super human effort on behalf of the Bobcat Tennis team yesterday, overcoming the heat, illness with Josh and a couple injuries by Lance. This was a hard fought win over New Oxford on the Southwestern courts that qualified Lance and Josh for the District Doubles as they punched their ticket to this big event later next week!
After winning the first set, 6-2, the Cats were down 4-1 in the second and deciding set. They continued to battle back to bring the match to 6-6 and set up the 7 point tiebreaker and that is when a couple things occurred. Lance had to take an injury timeout and the the New Oxford Ace, Justin Gruver, was feeling the effects of the heat and dehydration. With Northeastern down 1-5 in the tiebreaker, Lance was able to continue and the New Oxford duo was unable to and it turned into a win for the Cats and a trip to the District Doubles.
The Bobcat season is far from over as they will travel to Racket Club West in Lancaster this Thursday and take on the fifth rated team in District 3, Red Lion. The Cats will be shooting to once again play their best and give it their all and see how this second matchup goes between our two schools at the prestigious Team District event.
Yesterday the Track & Field team had a meet against Susquehannock for their senior night! Unfortunately we didn’t come out with a win. Congratulations to all the seniors for their successes in track and field!
The boys volleyball team won once again last night over Spring Grove!
The varsity softball and baseball teams have an away game against Dover this afternoon. Good luck to both teams!
